Biden accused of inflating data on migrant detentions

The administration of former U.S. President Joe Biden may have deliberately inflated statistics on the detention of illegal migrants, according to the leadership of the country’s immigration service.

Acting Director of the service, Todd Lyons, stated that tens of thousands of cases were recorded as detentions, while in reality, the migrants were simply processed and released. According to him, more than two-thirds of the arrests in 2024 were merely a “theater of law enforcement,” and the reported detention figures were exaggerated.

The Washington Times notes that such actions may have been taken to create the illusion of active immigration control.
