NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte will meet with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House on Thursday, March 13, White House Press Secretary Caroline Livitt announced.
Livitt also confirmed the visit of Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin on March 12, scheduled in connection with the annual St. Patrick’s Day events.
Rutte’s visit was announced last week when the White House mentioned it in the context of “shuttle diplomacy” aimed at resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
The NATO Secretary General previously stated that he is “cautiously optimistic” about resolving the differences between the U.S. and Ukraine.
