Trump announced that his team is going to Russia for ceasefire talks

US President Donald Trump stated that an American delegation is heading to Russia for negotiations on a potential ceasefire. He emphasized that the next steps depend on Moscow’s position and expressed hope that Russia will agree to a ceasefire.

Trump also highlighted that the US has leverage, which can be applied not only against Ukraine but also against Russia. He warned that there are financial measures that could significantly impact Russia, though he hoped these would not be necessary.

Additionally, the US president announced new tariffs on the European Union, stating that it is now America’s turn to respond to European trade restrictions.

Earlier, Western media reported that Trump’s special representative, Steve Whitcoff, may visit Moscow in the coming days to meet with Russian leadership.

At the same time, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio mentioned that it is unclear how Russian authorities will respond to the proposal for a 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine. He also stressed that there is no military solution to the conflict and urged Russia to immediately halt hostilities.
