Le Pen says Ukraine’s EU membership would destroy French agriculture

The de facto leader of the far-right National Rally party in France, Marine Le Pen, stated that Ukraine’s accession to the EU would lead to the destruction of French agriculture.

On Wednesday, the French National Assembly passed a resolution aimed at strengthening support for Ukraine. During the vote, National Rally abstained.

Marine Le Pen explained:
“National Rally has always supported Ukraine’s territorial integrity, but not at any cost.”

She emphasized that the red line for her party remains that Ukraine should not join the European Union.

“Otherwise, it will mean the death of French agriculture, which already faces competition from their products in terms of standards and finances,” Le Pen said.
