A politician in Prague shot himself at his workplace

On March 13, a member of the Prague 17 district council, Pavel Maxa, shot himself at his workplace in Prague.

The tragedy occurred at the administration building on Bendova Street in the Rzhepy district. The local government confirmed Maxa’s death but did not provide further details about the incident. The police believe it was likely a suicide.

According to journalists, Maxa used a firearm. The motives behind his actions remain unknown. Pavel Maxa served as an advisor on social issues, and he was also a municipal councilor and the director of the company Optimis.
