The Washington Post has published details of the upcoming talks between the US, Russia, and Ukraine, which will take place in Saudi Arabia on March 23 and 24.
The negotiations will be mediated by the US, but Russia and Ukraine will not engage in direct talks. The meeting with the Ukrainian delegation is scheduled for Sunday, March 23, and with the Russian delegation for Monday, March 24.
The discussions will focus on ceasefire issues in the Black Sea and infrastructure, although a complete ceasefire is unlikely to be on the agenda. Russia will be represented by Senator Grigory Karasin and FSB Director’s advisor Sergey Besseda, while Ukraine will be represented by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov and Deputy Head of the President’s Office Pavlo Palisa. US mediators will include Michael Anton, a State Department representative, and aides to US Special Representative Keith Kellogg.
