US-Russian talks on the Black Sea alarm NATO countries

Negotiations between the US and Russia over the Black Sea are raising concerns among neighboring NATO countries, who fear that a potential deal could strengthen Moscow’s influence in the disputed waters and expand the operational zone of the Russian Navy. This was reported by the Financial Times, citing officials from Romania and Bulgaria.

The White House and the Kremlin confirmed that today in Saudi Arabia, talks will address a ceasefire in the Black Sea. Moscow also clarified that the discussions include the renewal of the grain deal.

It is worth noting that Ukraine was not satisfied with the grain deal, as it limited maritime exports to foodstuffs only and allowed Russia to control cargoes on ships departing from Ukrainian ports.
