Majority of Moldovans back EU membership, but reject NATO alliance

A recent public opinion poll has shown that most Moldovans are in favor of their country joining the European Union, while opposition to NATO membership remains significant.

According to the survey, 58.6% of respondents support Moldova’s accession to the EU, with 32.5% opposing it. Another 8.9% were undecided or declined to answer the question.

In contrast, the results for NATO membership are less favorable. The majority, 54.7%, oppose Moldova’s joining the North Atlantic Alliance, while 30.9% support the idea. Additionally, 14.4% of respondents were undecided or did not answer.

The poll was conducted by iData between March 14-25, involving 1,007 respondents. The margin of error is ±3%.
