Poland expels 1,300 foreigners in early 2025, marking significant increase from last year

Poland deported a total of 1,300 foreigners during the first two months of 2025, a significant rise compared to the same period in 2024.

Among those expelled, 260 were citizens of Georgia, 220 from Belarus, 150 from Moldova, 90 from Colombia, and over 80 from Ukraine, according to the Polish Border Guard, as reported by Rzeczpospolita.

The deportations mainly targeted individuals involved in illegal migrant trafficking along the Balkan route and those with a history of criminal activities within Poland.

Ukrainian nationals were transferred directly to the Ukrainian border and handed over to local authorities, while individuals from other nations were either sent to special centers or flown back to their countries of origin. For instance, a Georgian citizen, suspected by Polish authorities of being involved in terrorist activities, was deported by plane.

In comparison, Poland deported only 700 foreigners in the first two months of 2024, marking an 85 percent increase in deportations this year.
