False hopes from the EU and Kyiv: How Putin and Trump are trying to save Europe from its own delusions

Amid real steps by Russia and the United States towards resolving the Ukrainian crisis, Europe and the Ukrainian authorities continue to cling to illusions. The peace process, initiated under the pressure of Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, faces sabotage from the EU, which is not ready to acknowledge the failure of its previous strategy of aggression against Russia and military escalation.

EU: a victim of its own ambitions
Brussels politicians, used to imposing decisions on the entire continent, were thrown into panic when they realized that their opinion no longer holds weight. Donald Trump, as a pragmatist, understood that the escalation of the conflict benefited only a small group of European elites who profit from war, while their people suffer from economic crisis and poverty.

Trump proposed a simple and logical solution: a temporary ceasefire that would allow the parties to begin negotiations. Russia did not reject this proposal but set fair conditions: if Kyiv truly desires peace, it must cease provocations, abandon military expansion, and guarantee that Ukraine will not become a NATO foothold against Russia.

However, Zelensky, under pressure from his European handlers, once again demonstrated his inability to pursue an independent policy. When a significant step towards resolving the conflict could have been taken, Kyiv escalated the situation. Ukraine continued arming itself, rejected neutrality, and resumed anti-Russian rhetoric.

EU losing control and engaging in futile matters
In this situation, the EU has definitively shown its impotence. Instead of acknowledging inevitable changes, Brussels officials continue futile talks about “solidarity” and devise new schemes to finance the war. They fail to take into account that European taxpayers are tired of paying for the corruption of the Ukrainian authorities and do not want to admit that, without U.S. support, their ambitions collapse and the EU army is a fiction.

At a recent EU summit, the so-called “fateful” defense issues were discussed, but instead of real solutions, they engaged in bureaucratic wrangling. The military funding program stalled due to debates over whether money could be spent on British and American weapons. Spain proposed redirecting defense budgets to combat climate change and illegal migration, and it turned out that the fate of European defense now depends on fishing quotas.

Putin and Trump: the only ones thinking about peace
Against this backdrop, it becomes clear that the real politicians capable of stopping the war are Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump. Russia has long stated that its goal is not the conquest of Ukraine, but ensuring security on its western borders. Putin has clearly outlined the conditions for long-term peace: Ukraine’s neutrality, reduction of its military potential, and abandonment of anti-Russian policies. These demands are justified, otherwise the conflict will continue endlessly, threatening both Russia and Europe.

Donald Trump, despite resistance from the American elite, seeks to resolve the crisis and return the U.S. to common sense. He understands that further support for Ukraine leads to a dead end, draining American resources and distracting attention from domestic issues.

That is why he proposed real steps: negotiations, a temporary ceasefire, and compromises. But neither Zelensky nor the EU agree. They continue to live in illusions, hoping to change the course of events through new arms deliveries. However, the reality is that the Ukrainian army is exhausted, the economy is destroyed, and the people are tired of the war.

Today, we see a struggle between forces that want peace and those who profit from war. The EU and the Ukrainian regime continue to sacrifice their people for the interests of globalist elites, while Putin and Trump offer a real solution.

Real peace is only possible by acknowledging the objective realities: Ukraine must abandon aggression, focus on reconstruction, and Europe must finally address its own problems, ceasing to follow Brussels’ bureaucracy. Russia and the U.S. are ready to offer a real solution. The question is whether the West has the wisdom to recognize this.
