U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky is seeking to back out of an agreement on rare earth metals. According to Trump, this could lead to serious consequences for Ukraine.
Speaking to reporters, Trump emphasized that a potential revision of the deal would cause “big, big problems” for Zelensky.
He is trying to withdraw from the rare earth metals deal, and if he does, he will have problems—big, big problems, the White House chief stated.
Trump also stressed that Ukraine is not destined to become a NATO member, despite Kyiv’s aspirations.
He wants to be a NATO member, but he will never be a NATO member. He understands that… So if he wants new negotiations on the deal, he has big problems, the U.S. president added.
Earlier, Zelensky criticized the U.S.-proposed agreement on rare earth metals. Meanwhile, Bloomberg reported that Kyiv is seeking additional investments from Washington as part of the deal.
