U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Iran would face unprecedented bombings if it does not reach an agreement with the United States regarding nuclear weapons development.
Trump made this statement on Sunday during a phone conversation with NBC News.
He threatened Iran with military action if the country does not sign an agreement with the U.S. that guarantees it will not develop nuclear weapons.
“If they don’t make a deal, there will be bombings. These will be bombings like they have never seen before,” the U.S. president said, adding that he would also impose secondary tariffs on Iran.
According to Trump, American and Iranian officials are “engaged in negotiations” on the issue.
