A collision between a passenger ship and a cargo vessel in a lagoon near the Polish city of Szczecin left nine people injured.
The incident occurred when a 95-meter tourist ship, Jurgen Joerg, heading toward Szczecin, collided with a barge carrying fuel traveling in the opposite direction toward Świnoujście.
Both ships sustained damage in the collision, but there were no breaches below the waterline, and both vessels were able to continue moving independently after the accident.
Among the passengers on the Jurgen Joerg, nine individuals were injured. Initially, the ship’s captain reported that no one needed assistance, but upon the arrival of rescue services, an ambulance was called for the injured passengers. Eight of the injured passengers were treated on-site for minor injuries, while an 84-year-old woman was hospitalized with head and leg injuries.
