American actor of Belgian origin Jean-Claude Van Damme has become a suspect in a criminal case in Romania related to a criminal network involved in human trafficking.
According to the Hotnews portal, the incidents in which the actor may have been involved took place about ten years ago.
According to a statement from the lawyer of one of the victims, the investigation concerns events that occurred in Cannes. Van Damme is accused of using the services of women who were being exploited. Sources indicate that the actor was in Cannes at the time and had contact with five women of Romanian origin who were forced into prostitution.
The meetings were allegedly organized by businessman Morel Bollea, the head of the non-profit organization EuroDemos and the owner of a modeling agency.
