Armed robbers attack cash couriers with machete in central Berlin

In Berlin’s Charlottenburg district, two armed criminals ambushed a cash-in-transit vehicle, attacking couriers with a machete and pepper spray before making off with valuable cargo.

According to police reports, the robbery occurred as employees were loading gold, jewelry, and cash into the vehicle. One of the masked assailants threatened a 57-year-old courier with a machete, while the second, wearing a motorcycle helmet, used pepper spray on another employee.

The robbers successfully stole the valuables and escaped. One victim sustained eye injuries and was taken to a hospital, while the other remained unharmed.

Authorities have launched an investigation. Notably, the van had no visible markings identifying it as a cash-in-transit vehicle.
