Spanish police have seized over 50 kilograms of cocaine hidden in a lorry bound for the UK, with a street value of €1.5 million. Four individuals connected to the drug smuggling network were arrested.
Madrid’s national police confirmed the bust on Thursday, following an investigation that began when authorities identified a lorry making frequent stops at an industrial estate in Móstoles, suspected of being involved in storing illegal substances. Police tracked the vehicle’s movements and set up a checkpoint along its route.
The vehicle was intercepted while the driver and two accomplices were resting at a rest stop. During the search, the authorities found the hidden narcotics, leading to three immediate arrests.
The following day, a fourth suspect—identified as the warehouse owner—was apprehended. Police now claim to have dismantled a significant part of the criminal network’s operations, marking a substantial blow to drug trafficking operations across Europe.
