OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, is working on creating its own social network, according to The Verge, which cites sources familiar with the project.
According to the publication, the new platform will resemble X and already exists as an internal prototype. The test version focuses on image generation using ChatGPT and features a social feed. It remains unclear whether the project will be launched as a standalone app or integrated into ChatGPT itself.
The Verge reports that the initiative aims to enhance the training of OpenAI’s language models — the new social network would allow the company to collect real-time data, similar to what X and Meta already do to train their AI systems.
