An electric scooter battery exploded in Germany, resulting in several injuries.
Easter Sunday ended in the hospital for five residents of a private home in the Vogtland district—an electric scooter battery exploded in the home’s hallway.
The cause of the incident has not yet been determined. According to police, the subsequent fire caused significant damage to the house, rendering it temporarily uninhabitable.
The injured individuals were hospitalized. Damages are estimated at approximately €60,000, with two electric scooters among the items damaged.
As is known, many cities across Europe continue to regulate the use of electric scooters. While they have opened up new possibilities for urban mobility, they have also become a problem due to irresponsible parking and users’ neglect of safety measures.
