Nearly 600 cases of harm from COVID vaccination confirmed in Germany

German authorities have acknowledged irreversible negative effects from coronavirus vaccination in nearly 600 cases — a minuscule fraction of all vaccinations administered.

According to information obtained from official government inquiries, as of early April 2025, at least 573 cases of illness following COVID vaccination have been identified.

In total, more than 14,000 claims seeking recognition of vaccine-related harm have been submitted to regional authorities in Germany responsible for handling complaints about coronavirus vaccinations.

The vast majority of these claims were rejected, while more than 2,000 are still under appeal. In cases where harm from vaccination (not limited to COVID-19) is officially recognized, affected individuals are entitled to treatment, rehabilitation, or social benefits funded by the state, depending on the severity of the case.

According to Germany’s Federal Ministry of Health, between December 2020 and April 2023, a total of 192.2 million vaccine doses were administered in the country.

Overall, 64.9 million people in Germany received at least one dose, 52.1 million were vaccinated twice, 12.7 million received more than two doses, and 18.4 million people remained unvaccinated.
