A strong earthquake that struck Istanbul on Wednesday resulted in over 150 people being hospitalized with injuries.
According to the AP news agency, the earthquake, with a magnitude of 6.2, was felt not only in Istanbul but also in surrounding areas. There have been no reports of significant damage in the city.
The Istanbul Governor’s Office reported that 151 people were injured while attempting to flee buildings in panic. The injured are currently in hospitals, and their lives are not in danger.
Commenting on the event, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that serious consequences were avoided.
