Trump adviser says Zelensky will sign subsurface agreement soon

U.S. President’s advisor Mike Waltz stated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will sign an agreement with the United States on mineral extraction in the near future.

He made this announcement at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Maryland. Waltz emphasized that the agreement would benefit Ukraine, adding that economic partnership with the U.S. is the best thing that can happen to the Ukrainian economy.

He also expressed confidence that under Donald Trump, the war in Ukraine will end soon, stating that ultimately Trump will receive the Nobel Peace Prize.

The mining agreement, which has caused tension in U.S.-Ukraine relations, is part of efforts to end the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. According to Axios, American and Ukrainian officials held negotiations throughout the night to reach an agreement and prevent further deterioration in bilateral relations.
