Unidentified man injured near Holocaust memorial in Berlin: police are searching for him

On the evening of February 21, an attack occurred near the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin, where an unknown man inflicted severe injuries on another individual.

According to Welt, Berlin police spokesperson Florian Nath confirmed that the victim suffered serious wounds from a stabbing weapon. He is currently hospitalized, but his identity has not yet been established.

Eyewitnesses claim to have seen a man fleeing the scene, who is believed to be the attacker. The police have launched a large-scale operation to locate the suspect. The area around the memorial was cordoned off, with emergency services deployed, including three fire trucks and several dozen police vehicles.

The Holocaust Memorial, inaugurated in 2005 in memory of the murdered Jews of Europe, is located in the Berlin-Mitte district near the Brandenburg Gate and Potsdamer Platz. The U.S. Embassy is also nearby, but it remains unclear whether the crime is in any way connected to it.
