Over 50 killed in North Macedonia nightclub fire during concert

More than 50 people have died in a fire at a nightclub concert in North Macedonia, according to the Macedonian news agency MIA, citing the country’s Interior Ministry.

The tragedy occurred in the city of Kočani on the night of March 16, around 3:00 AM.

The fire broke out during a performance by the band DNK at the “Pulse” nightclub. Preliminary reports suggest that the blaze was caused by the use of pyrotechnics.

Minister of Internal Affairs Pançi Toškovski confirmed that 51 people lost their lives in the fire. More than a hundred injured individuals have been transported to hospitals across the country.
