Dutch military conducts equipment transfer exercise in Germany

A four-day training exercise involving Dutch military forces has begun in western Germany, focusing on logistics and the transportation of heavy equipment across the Rhine River.

According to WDR, the maneuvers are taking place in the vicinity of the cities of Emmerich, Kalkar, and Rees from Sunday to Wednesday. On the first day of the exercise, a steamboat was scheduled to begin transporting military equipment across the river.

There are no restrictions on civilian transportation due to the drills, and observers can watch the process from a close distance. However, authorities warn that military vehicle movements may cause traffic disruptions, particularly on roads L7 and B67.

Such exercises in Germany are not uncommon for the Dutch military, as the Netherlands faces a shortage of training grounds. Despite active efforts to find new areas for military training, these initiatives have met resistance from local residents, especially when shooting ranges are involved.

Earlier, in early March, Dutch F-35 fighter jets conducted exercises in Estonia aimed at neutralizing enemy drones.
