The European Union is suspending the introduction of countermeasures in response to US tariffs for a period of 90 days.
This was announced by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, who noted that the decision was made to allow more time for continued negotiations. In her message on X, she emphasized that the EU’s countermeasures had already received strong support from member states, but they will be postponed for three months.
Von der Leyen added that the EU is ready to continue working on these measures and hopes for successful negotiations. However, if the outcome of the negotiations is unsatisfactory, the countermeasures will be implemented.
