In the Congo, more than 140 people have died from an unknown disease

In the Democratic Republic of Congo, over 140 people have died from an unidentified illness, according to Reuters.

In November, 143 deaths were recorded in the southwestern province of the country due to the disease. According to the Deputy Governor of Kwango Province, Remy Saki, and the local Minister of Health, Apollinaire Yumba, all the affected individuals exhibited similar symptoms, including high fever and severe headaches.

Medical teams have been sent to the epidemic area to collect samples. The disease has spread to remote rural areas where access to medicine is limited, resulting in fatalities due to the lack of medical supplies.

The World Health Organization has expressed concern over the situation and is working alongside local authorities to investigate the disease. Meanwhile, the number of infected continues to rise.
