This statement was made at the conservative forum Am Fest, where Trump emphasized the importance of personal interaction with the Russian leader.
President Putin has expressed a desire to meet with me as soon as possible. We need to make this meeting happen. This is one of the things I want to do quickly, Trump stated.
He also stressed that resolving the conflict should be a priority for the international community, adding: “We must end this terrible war.” Trump did not specify the exact dates or format of the proposed meeting.
Experts believe that potential negotiations between Trump and Putin could become a pivotal step in efforts to end the war. However, they also note that such a move could provoke controversy among U.S. allies, given the existing tensions between Washington and Moscow.
