Turkey kicks off major naval drills with 20,000 troops across three seas

Naval exercises have begun in Turkey, with 20,000 military personnel taking part in the large-scale maneuvers across three seas.

Rear Admiral Kenan Kaan Türkkan, the Chief of Staff of the Turkish Navy, explained that the Mavi Vatan-2025 exercises will unfold in the Black Sea, Aegean Sea, and Mediterranean Sea.

The 10-day drills will see the participation of 90 ships and 50 aircraft. Türkkan highlighted that the primary aim of the exercises is to evaluate the Navy’s command effectiveness in managing operations, while also enhancing the operational readiness of its units.
