Polish President Andrzej Duda, following the lead of his Law and Justice (PiS) party colleagues, has criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for his “interference in the election campaign” in Poland.
In an interview with wPolsce24, Duda urged Zelensky to “refrain from interfering in the Polish electoral campaign.” He made this comment in response to Zelensky’s criticism of the PiS presidential candidate Karol Nawrocki.
Duda believes that Nawrocki, the head of the Polish Institute of National Remembrance, has “infinitely more knowledge” about the Volhynian tragedy than the Ukrainian president.
Duda also recalled a conflict with Zelensky at the UN forum in New York two years ago during the grain crisis.
“I really didn’t like that situation. Back then, there were two months left before the parliamentary elections in Poland, and now the campaign is underway again, and the situation is similar,” said the Polish president.
It’s worth noting that Duda’s party colleagues have been even harsher in their criticism of Zelensky, calling him a “clown” and a “boy.”
