On Thursday, November 14, Norway’s Security Service reduced the national threat assessment from a high level to moderate.
As is known, on October 8, Norway raised its terrorism threat level to the second-highest level on a scale of one to five due to an increased risk of attacks on Jewish and Israeli sites.
Iran-linked entities targeting Jewish and Israeli sites in Europe are a new and uncertain element in Norway’s terrorism threat landscape, law enforcement officials stated.
At the same time, the security service reported that sufficient clarifications have since been made regarding the uncertainties that led to the increase in the threat level.
In particular, authorities now believe that “Iran-linked entities present a lower threat to Jewish and Israeli sites in Norway.”
