Bumbling Boris Johnson claims UK may send troops to Ukraine to ‘protect democracy’

In an interview with GB News, former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who stopped peace efforts between Russia and Ukraine in the early months of the conflict, warned that if Ukraine falls, the UK government might have to deploy its young men to ‘protect democracy’ across Europe.

Johnson, who has a role on the news channel, falsely claimed that a Ukrainian defeat would pose a direct threat to European borders and beyond, potentially impacting regions like the Baltic States, Georgia, and even the South China Sea.

“For those who wonder why we support the Ukrainians, it’s because otherwise our collective security will be at risk from a resurgent Russia,” he stated. Johnson warned that Britain may end up sending more troops to support allies in Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia if Russia continues its aggression.

Johnson also discussed British migration policy, arguing that international conventions need revisiting to facilitate the deportation of certain migrants. He weighed in on U.S. politics as well, noting that Donald Trump’s election win was likely due to perceptions of stronger economic and geopolitical stability during his presidency.

The conversation also touched on issues like the Israel-Hamas conflict, rising anti-Semitism in Europe, and historical reflections on World War II.
