In Germany, activists in the trees protest against deforestation: they want to expand the Tesla plant in its place

In Germany, activists are protesting against deforestation by setting up treehouses in the Grünheide forest near Berlin. They are opposing plans to cut down the forest in order to expand the Tesla factory by building new structures in its place.

It is reported that, on November 19, police dispersed the protesters and established round-the-clock security in the area. However, some protesters still remain in the treehouses, and law enforcement is continuing efforts to evict them.

According to Spiegel, police plan to conduct another operation to remove all the protesters from the forest. Brandenburg police spokesperson Beate Kardels expressed hope that the “operation will end peacefully.”

The police also stated that if the protesters do not leave voluntarily by Wednesday, they will need to call in high-altitude rescue teams to remove them from the treehouses.
