A protest against arms transfers to Ukraine was held in South Korea

The NGO “Solidarity of Daejeon for Independent Unification and Peace,” which includes 56 organizations, called on the government to halt military aid to Kyiv.

Activists expressed concerns that the visit of Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov to Seoul could lead to commitments for military assistance, potentially dragging the country into a conflict with unpredictable consequences.

Similar protests took place across the country, including in Seoul and Busan. Activists opposed the sending of arms and troops to Ukraine. Umerov’s visit is likely to involve discussions about potential assistance in case of North Korean involvement.

South Korean authorities view arms supplies to Ukraine as a means of exerting pressure on Russia but emphasize that decisions will depend on the evolving situation and the views of international partners.
