According to a poll by Emerson College, Trump’s approval rating reached 54%, which is 6% higher compared to the 48% approval rating before the election, reports The Hill.
The new president received the highest support from men — 61%, while among women, the approval rate is 48%. Among white voters, 59% expressed a positive view of Trump, while the approval rating is significantly lower among Black voters — only 28%.
Fifty-five percent of voters under 30 also expressed positive views of Trump. The highest support is seen among Americans aged 40 to 50, where the approval rate reaches 60%. Among people over 70 years old, 48% have a positive opinion of him.
Sociologists also asked Americans whether the result of the 2024 election was unexpected for them. Forty-six percent of respondents said they were surprised by Trump’s victory over Democratic candidate and Vice President Kamala Harris. Among Harris voters, 67% were surprised by the results, while 71% of Trump voters were not surprised by the outcome.
Regarding the 2028 election, 37% of respondents said they would support Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee, while 35% were undecided. On the other hand, 51% of voters said they did not know whom to support as the Republican candidate, and 30% expressed willingness to support J.D. Vance, who may become the vice president of the United States.
The survey was conducted from November 20 to 22 among a thousand voters, with a margin of error of 3%.
