Police have charged a Prague-based physiotherapist, nicknamed “Maso,” with raping 11 clients.
The man, who boasted connections with celebrities and claimed to have the “most golden and renowned hands in the Czech Republic,” is currently in custody. Investigators suspect that the number of victims may not yet be final.
The police report does not name the 51-year-old man, who was formally charged last week. However, from the details shared by the police on Tuesday, it is clear that the suspect is Richard Pobiš. He runs his practice in Karmelitská Street in central Prague, which the police also mentioned in their statement.
The man is accused of raping 11 women between February last year and July this year, with the assaults reportedly taking place at his Karmelitská clinic.
During interviews, the victims independently stated that the assaults occurred during his treatments, while they were lying partially nude on the massage table, said police spokesperson Jan Rybanský.
Rybanský added that the accused is currently in custody. “At one time, the suspect publicly claimed to have the ‘most golden hands in the Czech Republic,’” he clarified.
Police believe there could be additional victims. Investigators are now seeking other clients who may have been victims of sexual violence.
