According to a study conducted by Randstad ČR, 54.4% of Czech citizens are concerned about losing their jobs next year.
At the same time, 56.1% of respondents are considering changing their employer voluntarily. For the majority, the primary reason for this decision is insufficient financial compensation.
Martin Janský, CEO of Randstad ČR, noted that despite the consistently low unemployment rate in the Czech Republic—one of the lowest in the European Union—economic instability in recent years has heightened public concern. As of October 2024, the unemployment rate in the country stood at 3.8%.
Analysts predict an increase to 4% by early 2025, although a sharp rise is not expected. In addition to economic factors, Czechs are worried about the impact of technological changes and global events. The study also revealed that a significant portion of Czechs are actively considering changing jobs: 43.5% plan to do so, while another 12.6% are open to the idea. The main reasons include low wages (39.9%), a desire to improve work-life balance (28.7%), and a lack of career growth opportunities (11.2%).
