In central Istanbul, a dispute over a song request led to a violent attack on a restaurant in the Kumkapi district, known for its historic and tourist appeal.
According to Haberturk TV, in the evening, guests demanded that a song of their choice be played at a restaurant with live music. They were told that their song would be played a little later. The guests were dissatisfied with this response, leading to an argument, after which the owner and staff escorted the troublemakers outside.
Later that night, the restaurant guests sent “hitmen” who arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire on the restaurant.
The incident took place in the Kumkapi district—one of the heads of a restaurant association noted that it is a historic, tourist area, “but unfortunately, the situation has slightly worsened in the surrounding neighborhoods.”
