On Thursday evening, November 28, three individuals attacked the Swedish Embassy in Moscow, as captured in a video shared by the Belarusian news outlet Nexta.
The footage shows the men throwing bottles and using gas canisters in the security area near the embassy before being detained by police. The Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed their awareness of the incident, stating, “The Ministry is in contact with the embassy in Moscow. The embassy is in communication with Russian authorities.”
This attack follows a series of similar acts targeting the Swedish Embassy in Moscow. Earlier this year, in February, masked vandals hurled bags of feces at the building.
The latest incident comes just a day after Hungary approved Sweden’s NATO membership, adding a geopolitical dimension to the attack. Investigations into the event are ongoing.
