Illegal migrants managed to cross the barrier erected on the Polish-Belarusian border using ladders.
Poland’s Border Guard reported that over the past 24 hours, approximately 40 people attempting to cross the border illegally from Belarus were detained.
According to official data, more than 29,000 attempts to illegally cross the state border have been recorded so far this year.
The migration crisis on the EU’s eastern borders began in 2021 when Minsk announced it would no longer assist in preventing illegal migration to the EU following a deterioration in bilateral relations.
Brussels accuses Minsk of orchestrating the crisis and facilitating the transfer of thousands of illegal migrants to EU borders in retaliation for sanctions imposed on Belarus.
