Elon Musk expressed concern over US President Joe Biden’s decision to pardon his son, Hunter Biden.
On his X page, the billionaire wrote:
I’m not concerned about drug issues, but casting doubt on the integrity of the United States is serious.
Musk also commented on a post by American writer Ben Shapiro, who pointed out that Hunter Biden’s pardon covers the period starting from January 1, 2014. Musk noted that Hunter began working for the Ukrainian company Burisma in April 2014, adding with an eye-rolling emoji: “Must be a coincidence.”
Furthermore, the entrepreneur humorously reacted to a comment from another user, who claimed that Biden pardoned his son for “esoteric crimes” that no one had heard of. The user called it “the funniest possible outcome” of Hunter Biden’s criminal situation.
Earlier, Biden signed an order pardoning his son, stating that the decision was based on his belief in the unfairness of the legal proceedings. Donald Trump, the victorious presidential candidate, called the move an abuse of power and a violation of justice standards.
Donald Trump Jr. also commented on Biden’s decision, saying it was predictable. Several criminal cases had been brought against Hunter Biden, particularly regarding violations related to gun possession laws. He was accused of purchasing a firearm in October 2018 while using drugs, which legally prohibited him from owning a gun.
Interestingly, in June of this year, Biden rejected the possibility of pardoning his son, and White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre had repeatedly stated that such a move would not happen.
