UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was fatally shot in New York in what police described as a premeditated attack, according to Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch.
She stated that all evidence points to this being a deliberate and targeted assault. The incident occurred in Manhattan as Thompson was on his way to a conference. The assailant reportedly waited several minutes before firing the shots.
The suspect fled the scene on foot before switching to an electric bike. He was last seen in Central Park. Police have announced a $10,000 reward for information leading to the suspect’s arrest.
