102-year-old Marjorie Fiterman and 100-year-old Bernie Littman have entered the Guinness World Records for setting the record for the highest combined age — 202 years.
Despite their advanced age, the couple decided to reaffirm their love through marriage. Both had lost their previous spouses and moved to a retirement home in Philadelphia, where they met each other. According to the Guinness World Records website, their new love came to them “just a few doors away.”
Marjorie and Bernie began dating 9 years ago, and they decided to get married on May 19. Their combined age is 202 years and 271 days.
Additionally, both could have attended the University of Pennsylvania around the same time, though this never happened. Bernie studied engineering, while Marjorie trained to be a teacher.
The wedding ceremony took place in the very retirement home where they first met. The event was attended by four generations of the Littman family.
