A new bill aimed at regulating pyrotechnics has been introduced in the Georgian Parliament, prohibiting the possession of such items during rallies, protests, and demonstrations.
The bill establishes various rules, prohibitions, and standards for administrative and criminal accountability. Some provisions will come into effect on February 1, 2025, while others will be enforced starting April 1, 2025.
In addition to pyrotechnics, the bill bans firearms, explosives, flammable substances, radioactive materials, and bladed weapons at public gatherings.
The legislation also stipulates that the import, export, production, and sale of pyrotechnic items in Georgia will only be permitted with a special license or permit. Licenses can be obtained from the Agency for State Reserves and Civil Security Services, which operates under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
Before February 2025, the government plans to introduce technical regulations detailing the market rules and conditions for pyrotechnic products.
