In Gdańsk, Poland, officers from the Maritime Border Guard, in cooperation with the Czech Customs Service, seized 44 liters of liquid cocaine disguised as a shipment of wine.
The value of the seized drugs on the black market is estimated at 7.5 million zlotys (approximately $1.8 million). According to law enforcement, the illicit cargo was transported by a container ship from a Panamanian port. Then was intended to reach Poland through one of the European ports and the customs checkpoint in Ostrava.
As part of the operation, three suspects were detained: two residents of the Lublin Voivodeship, aged 41 and 47, and a 53-year-old resident of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship. All have been charged with participating in an organized criminal group and smuggling a significant quantity of narcotics. The court has ordered their detention for three months. The accused face prison sentences ranging from 3 to 20 years.
