U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has been named Person of the Year by Financial Times.
Last year, this title was awarded to Lars Jørgensen, the head of the Danish pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk. Financial Times noted that Trump was chosen for this honor this year due to the “remarkable nature of his return to power.” This is the second time Trump has received this title; he was previously named Person of the Year in 2016.
Trump won the election on November 5, becoming the first U.S. politician since the 19th century to return to the White House after a four-year hiatus. His victory was confirmed by all major media outlets, including the Associated Press and networks such as Fox News, CNN, NBC, ABC, and CBS.
On December 17, Trump received the necessary number of electoral votes. The inauguration will take place on January 20.
