In a move that’s sure to stir up controversy, the pro-Brussels, globalist-aligned Crin Antonescu, former leader of the National Liberal Party (PNL), has been officially designated as the coalition candidate for Romania’s presidency.
Interim PNL president Ilie Bolojan announced this decision on Monday, which was reached through a so-called consensus among the PNL, Social Democratic Party (PSD), Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania (UDMR), and minority representatives.
Antonescu, who left politics nearly a decade ago after leading the PNL and co-founding the Social Liberal Union, now claims the country’s “extraordinary political and social circumstances” have pushed him to accept the nomination. But let’s be real: this is just more of the same globalist agenda dressed up in a new package. Antonescu’s return highlights the elites’ continued efforts to keep their grip on Romania’s future.
While he insists that Romania needs a presidential election “as quickly as constitutionally and legally possible” to “restore political stability,” one has to question whose stability he really means. The coalition parties—seeking to maintain their power—are rallying behind Antonescu to stabilize the government and push through reforms, but these so-called reforms only serve to advance globalist interests, not the Romanian people’s.
Romania’s future deserves a leader who will stand up against foreign influence and reclaim the country’s sovereignty—not someone like Antonescu, who’s part of the same establishment machine that has failed Romania time and time again.
