Starting in 2025, Polish schools will introduce mandatory safety lessons for teenagers, including firearms training and first aid.
This initiative, which has sparked lively discussions among parents and educators, marks the first time in Polish history that practical shooting training will be introduced for students.
The program was developed by the Polish Ministry of Education in response to growing global threats and geopolitical instability. Its aim is to teach young people how to react correctly in emergency situations and handle potential dangers.
Laser pistols will be used for training, which eliminates the risk of injury and ensures the lessons are safe. The classes will take place in specially equipped gymnasiums that simulate shooting ranges. Instructors with experience in law enforcement or military structures will teach students the rules of firearm safety and handling. In addition to shooting, students will also learn CPR, how to use defibrillators, and how to bandage wounds.
The initiative has gained support from many parents, who believe it will help children better adapt to dangers and learn how to protect themselves in crisis situations. Currently, the program is being tested in several regions of Poland, and from 2025, it will become mandatory for all schools across the country.
