American entrepreneur Elon Musk will provide financial support to the British right-wing party Reform UK, according to its leader Nigel Farage.
Farage revealed that he had met with Musk at Mar-a-Lago, the estate of former U.S. President Donald Trump. During their meeting, they discussed the details of party funding.
According to Farage, Musk expressed his willingness to support his political movement, emphasizing the importance of adhering to legal donation practices. However, Farage dismissed rumors previously reported by The Times that Musk plans to donate £100 million to the party, calling such claims “utter nonsense.”
The leader of Reform UK also expressed hope that Musk might participate in the work of the newly proposed Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), where he could demonstrate ways to optimize the public sector. In Farage’s view, Britain is currently moving in the opposite direction when it comes to reducing bureaucracy.
Meanwhile, Leader of the House of Commons Lucy Powell stated that the British government has no plans to obstruct Musk’s funding of Reform UK, emphasizing that such actions comply with the country’s laws.
