As of January 2, the National Archives of the Netherlands has made it possible to access a list of deceased individuals suspected of collaborating with the Nazi occupation regime during World War II.
According to NOS, the information is accessible through the Central Archive of Special Jurisdiction (CABR), the largest military archive in the country. The archive contains the names of over 300,000 deceased Dutch citizens who were either suspected of or possibly involved in collaboration with Nazi forces.
Initially, it was planned to publish not only the names but also related archival materials online. However, due to complaints from relatives of the suspected collaborators and victims of World War II, a temporary mechanism has been introduced. Currently, the files can only be viewed in person at the National Archives in The Hague and are restricted to researchers and close relatives. Photographing or copying the documents is strictly prohibited.
Last year, a map allegedly indicating a Nazi treasure was discovered in the National Archives of the Netherlands, prompting a three-month search.
