Italian PM Giorgia Meloni meets with Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni met with newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida on Saturday, January 4.

The meeting coincided with a screening of a documentary that highlighted perceived issues within the U.S. legal system, a topic drawing attention from some conservative legal circles.

Trump introduced Meloni to journalists during the event, describing her as a dynamic leader on the global stage. “I’m here with a fantastic woman, the Prime Minister of Italy. She’s really taken Europe—and everyone else—by storm, and we’re just having dinner tonight,” he remarked.

The evening also brought together several prominent figures, including Marco Rubio, the President-elect’s nominee for Secretary of State, and Scott Bessent, slated to head the Treasury Department.

The dinner and documentary screening showcased the growing rapport between Trump and Meloni, highlighting her rising influence in Europe and signaling potential future collaborations between the two leaders.
